From the distance the modern buildings of Bourgas are easily seen and the many ships anchored off are a good indication of the harbour entrance. The control tower is visible.

Dangers in approach:
1nM east of harbour east breakwater is a rock with 2. 3m over it marked by a south cardinal lit buoy, Q6+LFI 15s., horn. This is not shown on Turkish chart 18. The Red and Green channel buoys can be ignored by a yacht.
VHF channels : Port Control VHF 16, 11. Call Port Control on approach for permission to enter and berthing instructions.
Shelter: Exellent
Администрация: Customs and Border Police will visit on arrival. Do not go ashore until formalities complete. Harbour master will issue Cruising Permit in exchange for Ships Papers and $30. Passports held by Border Police unless visiting town or eaving by yacht.
