The sail training vessel "Kaliakra" built in 1984 in the Gdansk shipyard, Poland. The vessel is very solidly built and she is specially designed as training vessel. "Kaliakra" is fitted out for worldwide sailing and has all the safety certificates required for these activities. A minimum of 13 experienced, professional crew make sure that the ship operates safely. The Bulgarian barquentine has so far won some of the top awards. It is the pride and joy of Bulgarian sailing ships. During the Columbus Race regatta, dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the discovery of America, our ship crossed the Atlantic twice and qualified in the third place out of 43 tall ships. On the board visiting the Kaliakra, has been the King of Spain, the Norwegian heir to the throne and many other distinguished personalities. Having in mind that our barquentine "Kaliakra" is one of the fastest and nice looking vessels "Class A" we expect a great number of visitors and trainees will be on board the vessel in all the ports of call.
